The past three weeks, we have been focusing on a few different topics. The first one that we explored was Mood. Mood is a combination of focus, tension and the 5 senses which are Feel, smell, hear, see, taste. For this we had to do an activity where one group is blindfolded while the other group have to make the blindfolded people feel like they are in a specific place. The next aspect was about symbols. Symbols are things that can convey a meaning or action. We can use gestures, props, lighting and much more to be able to create symbolism. We played a few games such as Medusa and another one which name I have forgotten. These three aspects of drama all work together in order at add more power to the performance itself. This means that if you create a certain symbol, it could have effect on the mood of the scene. Another example would be if your movement is done in a specific way, it could give a very unique mood to the scene which is then followed up on by the symbolism.
