Design Criteria Summary

For Criteria A, the main focus is to create and justify the solution to a problem, construct a plan which will prioritise the primary and secondary research needed to create a solution. You also need to look into similar solutions to the problem to gain inspiration and lastly, you need to create a design brief which presents the key elements of relevant research. The main challenge for this criteria is going to be to keep only the truly relevant info and make sure that you can clearly breakdown all the info the show the key elements.

For Criteria B, the main focus is going to be to make clear design specs which will clearly show the success of the solution based on the analysis of the research and also to develop a wide variety of feasible designs which use appropriate mediums and detailed annotations which can be interpreted and followed by others very easily. You also need to present your chosen design with a clear justification and lots of details referring back to the design specs. Lastly, you need to be able to make accurate, detailed but easy to follow diagrams which outline all the steps which are required to make the project successful.

For Criteria C, you will need to construct a logical plan which shows efficient time management and resource use. You also need to show a high level of technical skills when making the solution. You will need to properly follow your plan to create the solution which should function properly and is presented appropriately. Lastly, you will need to clearly list any changes made to the chosen design and plan when making the solution. The main challenge here is going to clearly show all the steps so that others can follow your process.

For Criteria D, you are expected to design effective testing methods which will give very useful data in a efficient manner. You will need to critically evaluate your final product against the design specs based on the useful and efficient product testing. You will need to explain any flaws in your final product and explain how it can be improved and you will need to give a detailed and clear explanation on the impact that the solution will have on the clients. The main challenge here is going to be to make things detailed but still simple enough so that everyone can actually follow your thought process.
